[human written]

[human written] I’m going to start prefixing all my blog posts with this bracketed nomenclature to indicate a living , breathing person actually wrote these words. In today’s world, AI slop is way too prevalent and really makes us all question whether this was really written by someone or the product of large scale matrix multiplications that came from an LLM.

Why does it matter?

Honestly it doesn’t , content is content, and if you get some value out of what you read be it for entertainment purposes or work purposes then does it really matter how the content was created, the honest answer is , not really. But when it comes to seeing if the emotional or social consideration behind why the content is real, well that’s where you need it to be human written. Because machine generated prose no matter how elegant it might be ultimately is the result of averages and not nuances, it doesn’t take into account the current world and how folks emotions may be , it doesn’t really understand context, and that’s important in a world that changes so quickly and

Telling other’s its a real person

The simplest reason is just to let others know what they are reading is written by a real person. Its just a simple signal that lets folks realize that the prose they are seeing come from someone with actually thought and intention behind the writing, not just a algorithmic fabrication.

Is all AI generated text bad?

No of course not, there are many cases where having the machine regurgitate out test is more beneficial, things like:

  • specification sheets
  • tables of facts or comparisons
  • recipes
  • iteneraries with detailed steps
  • instructions and guides for commong

There’s plenty of use cases where AI slop when it doesn’t have too many hallucinations is avtually firl yusefula nd practical. But these mostly tend to be around factual based content, where its less about emotion of nuance and more about just getting the facts out.

The future and AI/human blend…

As we go more and more into the future you can expect that we will evolve and human written articles and other content, will invariably have elements of AI text , whether is a research topic or spec sheet we wont totally be able to eleiminate bits and pieces of AI sloop from infiltrating our human wirtten world, although many will try.
